Chapter Two: From MBAs4NYC To MBAs4Katrina |
|
 |
MBAs4NYC was established in August 2002 in direct response to 9/11 and a $250,000 grant from the State of New York.
For the next 18 months, literally starting from idea stage, we built a volunteer infrastructure and system that provided over 3,000 hours of volunteer consulting services from 200 volunteers to 90 small businesses in Lower Manhattan.
Our 501 (C)(3) Charter allows us to provide advisory and consulting services and financial support to
not-for-profit organizations and small businesses that are located in or doing business in lower Manhattan
or in another city or region that is suffering economically as a result of a natural or civic disaster.
On November 9, 2005, a new Board of Directors was elected to focus our efforts to the biggest economic revitalization,
due to Hurricane Katrina, ever undertaken by our government. Please go to www.mbas4katrina.org (site coming soon) to learn more about how you can help.
