Overview
The Advisory Renaissance Program is designed for small businesses that have broader fiscal and/or operational challenges. MBAs4NYC volunteers provide strategic consulting services and create an Action Plan designed to be executed by the small business over a six-month period.
Objective
To help a business achieve milestone-results by creating a six-month Action Plan that will help pave the way for sustainable profitability.
Program Format
Longer-term (6 months)
2-phased approach: Action Plan delivery, followed by mentoring
2-3 person consultant team
About the 2-Phased Action Plan
Phase I (Month One):
The volunteer team will work with the business owner to develop this plan during the first 30 days.
Phase II (Months Two to Six):
Over the next five- month period, the team will act in an advisory role, meeting with the client a minimum of once a month to advise on the small business owner's execution of the Action Plan.
Examples
- Comprehensive analysis for a software development firm to define their competitive advantage, their brand, and their target market
- Branding analysis for a high-end executive recruiting firm, and creation of marketing plan to bring in new clients in new markets.
- Marketing analysis for a boxing gym on how best to allocate their advertisinfgbudget to attract desired clients, and how to build corporate memberships
Consulting Time Commitment
Month 1: 15-20 hours per volunteer
Months 2-6: 2-4 hours per volunteer (per month)
